Mr. Westra founded Lakeland Capital in 2018 and has invested in multifamily assets since 2010.
Previously Westra was a Managing Director and member of the Finance Committee at Hines Interests, one of the largest private real estate development and investment firms globally, where he participated in approximately $3.5bn of transactions. Prior to Hines, Mr. Westra worked in the Bloomberg Administration in New York and with Morgan Stanley’s Investment Banking Division in London.
He holds a BA, magna cum laude, from Middlebury College where he was a Fulbright finalist, and an MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business.
Mr. Westra is a guest lecturer at the Darden School where he continues to mentor students and established an endowment to support real estate career development.

Mr. Carroll joined Lakeland Capital in 2022.
Previously Carroll was a Director at Hines Interests, one of the largest private real estate development and investment firms globally. He was most recently a member of the mid-Atlantic Acquisitions & Development team, where he participated in approximately $2bn of transactions.
Early in his career, Carroll was a member of Hines' Capital Markets Group, where he worked on various capital raising initiatives, including the structuring and capitalization of the firm’s global investment vehicles and one-off joint ventures.
He holds a BA in Economics from Georgetown University. While at Georgetown, Carroll was the captain of the Men's Varsity Rowing Team and a member of the US National Rowing Team.
Mr. Carroll is a Board Member for the Steers Center for Real Estate at Georgetown University.

Mr. Karch joined Lakeland Capital in 2023.
Previously Karch was an Associate at Greystar Real Estate Partners, the largest multi-family property developer, owner, and manager in the country. During his time at Greystar, he helped form the company’s Innovation team which worked with executives across the company to identify new business opportunities and improve operational efficiency for both their managed and owned portfolios valued at more than $275bn. In addition, he helped launch the Greystar Innovation Consortium which advised the firm’s largest investors and clients on emerging technologies in the multi-family industry.
Prior to Greystar, he worked at Pace Harmon, a boutique management consulting firm that worked with Fortune 50 companies.
Mr. Karch holds a BS in Engineering from Tufts University and a MS in Engineering, Science, and Technology Entrepreneurship from the University of Notre Dame.
